Celebrity image-maker Mike Ruiz has excelled at beautifying the world with his artful and ├╝ber-sexy photography. Now he's elaborating on his gift and making our existence a lot more fashionable. Partnering with high-end clothing manufacturer Any Old Iron, Ruiz is joining the upwardly-mobile art revolution by turning his uniquely stylized photo work into a line of what he calls "wearable art".

This week in New York City, the one-man brand celebrated the release of the new line with a launch party in downtown Manhattan at 146 & 149 Orchard Street. The event was hosted by Any Old Iron and The Orchard House and the soiree was sponsored by Bulldog Gin officially opening the week long festivities surrounding Fall Fashion Week.

"I'm always trying to redefine something," Ruiz playfully remarked about this latest endeavor, which introduces his distinct photo work onto a wearable canvas. "It's all part of my effort to try to introduce art to a consumer who doesn't always live near a cultural epicenter." This pop-art "Andy Warholian" approach to his brand marketing has always strategic worked to give the artist an edge and appeal in the commercial market.

The Latest Fashion

He was introduced to this new process that allows full four-color printing on silk panels that can then be applied to fabric. "It really is wearable art," he says with confidence and the high quality organic cotton and bamboo blend used for the shirts will guarantee their longevity.

"We’re going to keep introducing new images - giving the line a collectible quality." His last project was the very successful coffee table book "Pretty Masculine" which collected Ruiz’s wonderful series of images of the masculine form, that are now being reproduced and draped on this t-shirt line creating a veritable walking exhibit. This introductory line features four stunning images ready for the fall.

The new line represents Ruiz’s second foray into fashion merchandizing. The first was a more pop-centric novelty, Ruiz readily admits, commercially driven and centrally featuring him to promote his "A-List" persona. This particular set of shirts is considerably different from his initial release. "The shirts are such a great quality," Ruiz insists, "you can easily dress them up with a tuxedo jacket, or sport them casually with a pair of jeans."

Successfully moving on from his reality show credentials, Ruiz is happily accepting of the platform and the notoriety given to him and continues his dedicated focus to give back to the community. At the launch party for the new wearable art t-shirt line, he signed autographs for fans and took pictures.

The new affordably priced high-fashion t-shirts will be available via the store link on Mike Ruiz’s website at and can also be purchased directly from Any Old Iron or on their webiste at Each design is available for a limited time and will change with each season. So get your favorite now before it goes out of fashion!
