"Oh Micky you're so fine!" The famous refrain lifted from the Toni Basil hit pop song could well have been a cheerleading call to action about the West Hollywood hub Micky's that on a Wednesday night was dominating the strip. A handsomely sexy crowd comprised of LA's elite, including toughly fit bears, fashion cover boys and tasty twinks who worked themselves over the midweek hump. With drink specials and the most gorgeous go-go action available this side of Sunset, all signs pointed to Micky's - a "must see" spot when hitting the Left Coast.

Looking for a spot to drop into for a post-dinner drink along LA's always-active Santa Monica Boulevard, my best gal pal and I came upon Micky's which has enjoyed its centralized, open-air space in the heart of the gay mecca for as long as anyone can remember. On Wednesday's Micky's hosts "Hot Rod" with $5 drink specials and the most hot-rodding dancers, flexing and pumping to some of the sweetest DJ sounds. In the settling evening cool breezes of LA, with the winds coming into the expansively deep setting, Micky's feels like a beachside cabana party with weekly specialty prizes courtesy of Mister the latest hook-up app grinding onto the scene.

Getting the evening off to a great start was Micky’s own "shot hottie" Miguel. Besides just smelling fantastic (you really have to take a whiff of him) the darkly handsome and muscled Miguel is serving up $2 shots of Lemon Drops, orange flavored Creamisicles and his favorite... Fireballs, which may get you fired-up and ready for the heavy stream of revelers that filtered and filled up the space by 11pm.

Besides the swankily inviting crowd, what makes Micky’s so appealing is its good, genuinely happy feel. The crowd, including the staff of bartenders, go-go boys, and the evening’s host, are invested in making certain the room is lively and that there is fun to be had. Smiles filled the space from end to end - just the sort of distraction that one needs to guarantee then they’ll make it through the work week and ready for the weekend. Friday is just a couple days away.

Our thanks to Micky’s in West Hollywood for turning a midweek outing in the City of Angels, something to remember, and proves that there are night-crawlers able of finding friends and folly in the most comfortable settings.

Come into Micky’s in West Hollywood located at 8857 Santa Monica Boulevard in California. Go to for a calendar of events and upcoming special promotions.
