With Season 2 of the hit series "Sex/Life" streaming on Netflix, there's a question that keeps popping up: "Is it real or a prosthetic?"

Currently, the question refers to actor Jonathan Sadowski, who is seen in full-frontal on the new season, which began streaming last week. "After his character, Devon, is in a car accident while receiving oral sex, he has to get reconstruction surgery on his penis and flaunts it around the locker room," writes Variety.

"In the sixth episode of season two, Cooper (Mike Vogel) is seen asking Devon if his penis was affected after the pair were involved in a car crash with two sex workers," reports NME.com.

"Devon explains that his penis was bitten off because he was receiving oral sex as the crash happened. His penis was subsequently reconstructed by surgeons with an extra inch, along with a pump to help it get moving."

"I'm not sure it's a prosthetic! We'll never tell," says show's creator Stacy Rukeyser told Variety about Sadowski's locker room scene. While he's naked, Devon is showing his friends how beneficial the surgery was.

"Devon explains that his penis was bitten off because he was receiving oral sex as the crash happened. His penis was subsequently reconstructed by surgeons with an extra inch, along with a pump to help it get moving," Adds NME.

He even offered a demonstration on how it worked. "Everything is fully automated," he explains. "I have a stylish new curve, which is cool."

But the show's intimacy coordinator begs to differ. "He was so stoked for it," 'Sex/Life' intimacy coordinator, Casey Hudecki, exclusively told Us Weekly of the scene. "I don't wanna speak for him, but I'm sure he will tell you that he thought it was hilarious. And he was ready." She explained that for Sadowski, "He had a whole prosthetic process before and after [the locker room moment]."

This is the second time that a question was raised about a prosthetic penis being used on the show. Last season Adam Devos trended for days after his big reveal in a shower scene. "Demos and series creator Stacy Rukeyser have previously been vague when asked about his character's iconic shower scene. In July 2021, Newsweek reported that a member of the prosthetics team confirmed the use of prosthesis in that moment," Us Weekly reports. Netflix confirmed the scene was watched by 20 million viewers.

Netflix even promoted the time stamp when the moment happens after seeing how popular it became. (Timestamp 17 minutes 41 seconds on Episode 6 of Season 2).

While Rukeyser was mum on the prosthetic, she did tell Variety she always wanted to do a scene like that, with a genital getting enhanced surgically.
"I had done all of this research on it; I learned all about the inner penis and how that's a real thing. I was only too eager to go down this road. It felt like kismet in that way."
