Little Monsters to Decide Lady Gaga's Next Single

Lady Gaga is allowing little monsters and passive fans to decide which song from her third album "ARTPOP" should be her next single -- shortly after the pop singer debuted one hour's worth of new music at the iTunes Festival in London last weekend.

Although Gaga only released "Applause," the debut single from her highly anticipated third record a few weeks ago, it's not holding Mother Monster back from getting fans revved up for the record's next single. Last night Gaga took to Facebook and Twitter to get her fans' input.

"OK MONSTERS! Now that you've seen some of ARTPOP Live, what would be YOUR pick for 2nd Single? MANiCURE, SEXDREAMS, AURA, SWINE," she wrote on Facebook. She wrote a similar message on Twitter.

As of this writing, the Facebook posting has more than 53,000 "likes" and nearly 37,000 comments. It's hard to tell which song is the frontrunner, but in the latest 50 or so post, a number of little monsters have cheered for "Swine" and "Sex Dreams."

The tracks Gaga mentioned on social media were only half of the new "ARTPOP" songs she performed at the iTunes Festival on Sunday. The "Born This Way" hit maker also played, "Artpop," "I Wanna Be With You," "Jewels & Drugs" and of course, "Applause." The cut "Jewels & Drugs" features rappers Twista, Too $hort and T.I.

"I just woke up and realized you heard 8 of 15 songs on ARTPOP. A big hug to all of you for making this a positive experience, sharing music," Gaga wrote on Facebook the day after the iTunes Festival. "CAN I GO BACK ON TOUR NOW. I promise to be a good girl this time and not break anything. A big thank u 2 T.I., Too Short & Twista for makin 'Jewels & Drugs' w me + DJWS. Pioneering poets who took a chance on me. All my respect."

Gaga isn't the only pop diva letting fans decide which new music they will hear next, however. Last week, just before the 2013 MTV Video Music Awards, Katy Perry, who dropped her latest single "Roar" on Aug. 12, also had fans vote which track should be released next: "Dark Horse," featuring Juicy J or "Walking on Air."

Perry released snippets of each cut and "Dark Horse" was declared the winner. The singer described the song as having an "urban kinda hip-hop flavor" and that its lyrics are about "a witch warning this man not to fall in love with me and if you do just know I'm gonna be your last." But Perry noted that the song would not be the second single off her upcoming album "Prism," and that it is apparently a promotional single. Bonnie McKee, a singer and songwriter, who co-wrote a number of Perry tracks, including "Roar," hinted that the next single will be a song called "Double Rainbow," which she co-wrote with Sia.
