Cooper Calls Out Baldwin, Actor Defends Himself With Hairdresser

It didn't take long for out news anchor Anderson Cooper to slam Alec Baldwin for allegedly hurling anti-gay slurs towards paparazzi on Thursday.

According to the Huffington Post, Cooper took to Twitter after learning Baldwin's altercation with photographers. A TMZ video shows the actor calling a paparazzo a "cocksucking fag," though Baldwin claims he called him a "fathead" but still apologized for his language. That apology, however, is not sitting well with Cooper.

"Wow, Alec Baldwin shows his true colors yet again. How is he going to lie and excuse his anti-gay slurs this time?" Cooper tweeted.

When a Twitter user asked why Baldwin needs to apologize because "it's his right" to use slurs, Cooper wrote, "I never suggested he had to apologize. He can say whatever he wants, but then why repeatedly lie about it afterwards?" The journalist later added, "Just read Alec Baldwin's latest excuses. They are actually so ridiculous they are funny"

But the Baldwin saga didn't stop there. On Friday TMZ posted another video of the actor further trying to put out his fire and prove he isn't anti-gay. In the clip, Baldwin introduces his hairdresser Nick to the media and asks him, "Do you think I am a homophobe?"

"Yes, big time," the hairdresser jokingly says. The media, along with Baldwin and the hairdresser laugh, but some gasps can be heard. Baldwin thanks his hairdresser before leaving the area.

"Alec Baldwin just played the, 'I have a gay friend card ... putting his male hairdresser on the spot in front of reporters to vouch for his non-homophobia," TMZ writes. "It's shameless, it's desperate ... and quite frankly, it's sad. It reeks of 'dance monkey, dance' ... with Alec asking him straight up - 'Am I a homophobe?'"

The initial incident occurred on Thursday outside Baldwin's apartment after a judge ruled in a case against his stalker, Genevieve Sabourin, who was sentenced to 210 in jail on Nov. 14. After one photographer gets too close to his wife Hilaria and their baby, the actor loses his cool and hurls the anti-gay slur.

"Mr. Baldwin can't lend his support for equality on paper, while degrading gay people in practice," a representative from GLAAD told TMZ. "It's clearly time he listens to the calls from so many LGBT people and allies to end this pattern of anti-gay slurs."

Baldwin tweeted an apology. He also wrote that he used the word "fathead" and not "fag" but those tweets have apparently been deleted.
