Benham Brothers Use SCOTUS Ruling to Promote Book Sales

David and Jason Benham, the rightwing anti-gay anti-abortion twin brothers who made a career out of complaining how they lost their television career due to their extremist views, are using the recent United States Supreme Court decision in Obergefell v. Hodges to sell books.

While appearing as guests on failed Alaska GOP Senate candidate Joe Miller's radio program in July, they were there to plug their book "Whatever the Cost," the pair used the recent legalization of same-sex marriage as a catalyst to remain relevant among their conservative fans interested in flipping through the tome they published six months ago.

"The Supreme Court's decision on marriage - it was the worst thing that could have happened to our nation but it was the best thing that could have ever happened to the Church," Jason Benham told the conservative radio host. "Because now we get a chance to experience real persecution and when persecution comes that's God's prescription to purify us. And we now as a Church are going to be able experience that purification and it will separate the weak from the chaste."

Not to be outdone by his twin, David Benham offered his feelings on marriage equality.

"All of the things that are going on in our country in the name of equality and love and tolerance,[are] just a disguise for a bully agenda that is going to turn its guns blazing towards religious liberty in this country."
