The good lord works in mysterious ways.

According to a report in DNAinfo New York, the Atlah Worldwide Church, famous for its church sign that posts such inflammatory messages as "Jesus would stone homos," is scheduled to be put up for public auction in February due to unpaid debts.

"I assure you, it's about a water bill and a tax that can't be levied against this church," Atlah's "Harlem Hate Pastor" James Manning told DNAInfo. "I think it's a land grab quite frankly."

If it's a water bill, Manning must be taking some long showers. Court records show that the organization is on the hook for more than $1.02 million.

In reality, Manning owes on nine federal tax liens that amount to more than $355,000 dating back to 2002. He also owes New York State more than $28,000. Records show he owes more then $30,000 to other creditors. The city's Department of Environmental Protection lists the unpaid water bill as $194,000.

The public auction on the property will take place on February 24.
