PopUps: Lady Gaga's 'Perfect Illusion' Debuts On Billboard, But Is It A Flop?

EDGE null READ TIME: 1 MIN.

Lady Gaga shared her long-awaited solo single "Perfect Illusion" last week, and after the track skyrocketed on iTunes its made its official debut on Billboard's Hot 100 chart, Vulture reports.

"Perfect Illusion," the lead single from Gaga's forthcoming album "Joanne," landed at no. 15, just outside the top 10. Vulture notes this is the lowest ranking for a lead single from the pop star - "Applause" debuted at no. 6, while "Born This Way" debuted at no. 1 (if you can believe that).

This slight disappointment isn't only happening to Gaga, however. Both Katy Perry and Britney Spears experienced the same struggle when their new singles, "Rise" and "Make Me..." respectively, did not crack Billboard's top 10.

"Perfect Illusion" sold 100,000 downloads in a week and did well on streaming services. Gaga will debut the song's music video on Fox during the premiere of the second season of "Scream Queens."

"Joanne" is out on Oct. 21.
