What's With Cooper Koch's Wedding Ring? The Unmarried 'Monsters' Star Spills the Tea

The wedding ring on unmarried "Monsters" star Cooper Koch's finger excited fan speculation. On an appearance on the Sirius XM radio program "Andy Cohen Live" last week, the out actor explained what it means and why he put it on, People Magazine reported.

Fans had taken note of the wedding band when Koch was Cohen's guest on his Bravo talk show "What What Happens Live," and the out gay host asked the actor about it.

In his answer, "Koch explained that he was planning accompanying his brother Payton to the Emmy Awards when he was looking for accessories to complete his look," People recounted, explaining that Payton had been up for a statuette for his editing work on "Only Murders in the Building."

"We were getting ready and I didn't have any jewelry on," Koch narrated. "And I was with my boyfriend and we went into my room and I was looking through my jewelry, and I had this ring that was my grandfather's, and I was like, 'Oh, I should just wear this ring,' and then we just like put it on my ring finger and it just kind of became this little like, I don't know, romantic, protective mechanism."

In other words: Koch may be unmarried, but he's not single. (Hearts across the world have just shattered.)

His (unnamed) boyfriend hasn't donned a ring in turn, People noted, and Koch addressed that, saying, "We have talked about that, and we do need to get him a ring, but it's really more of just like a nice totem."

Meanwhile, Koch let it be known that his boyfriend is "very much committed to me as much as I am to him," People relayed.

Though already a rising star before the premiere of "Monsters," the "Swallowed" actor has achieved a whole new level of fame since the nine-episode series began streaming in September – and it didn't hurt that his commitment to the part, in addition to being acclaimed for his acting chops, extended to a full-frontal shower scene that, Koch assured Cohen on his "Watch What Happens Live" appearance, did not involve a prosthetic.
