Stonewall Communities announced that the 53 homes in the not-yet-built Stonewall Audubon Circle project, a living community in the Fenway neighborhood designed for older LGBT people, went on sale Aug. 31. David Aronstein, president of Stonewall Communities, said that people interested in purchasing the homes, which range in price from approximately $400,000 to $800,000, can see detailed floor plans of the units.

"We have floor plans that describe all the units as well as the common space, which includes a dining room and a kitchen where breakfast and afternoon tea will be available," said Aronstein.

About 20 people had contacted Stonewall Communities prior to the homes going on sale to put their names on a waiting list. Aronstein said they will have first priority in purchasing homes in Stonewall Audubon Circle, after which the rest of the public will have the option to buy. While the project and its programming are designed to meet the needs of older LGBT people, Stonewall Communities said it will not discriminate against straight people interested in buying the units.
Construction is scheduled to begin in spring 2008, and Aronstein said people will begin to move in December 2009.
