Clothing drive announced for MassResistance

Michael Wood READ TIME: 5 MIN.

As our design team sorted though some archived photos, something struck them as queer about the images from the previous hearing in the case of Parker v. Lexington on February 7, 2007. It wasn't the comparatively low turn out of pro-Parker activists this time around, nor the seeming lack of any pro-Lexington support. Rather, it was the striking reappearance of a lapis full-length quilted coat and faux leopard hat.

Feb. 7 2007

The photo you see here was taken Feb. 7 2007 outside the John Joseph Moakley Courthouse. It's eye catching on any day. However, having just reviewed photos from the Dec. 5 trial, our designers couldn't help but recall the same coat as well as the fur trimmed gloves.

Dec. 5, 2007

Almost a year later, and we will note here that she has updated the look by swapping out the leopard print scarf for one in a more coordinating shade of lapis.

Camenker’s Coat

Of course, any watcher of Massachusetts gay politics is familiar with Brian Camenker's distinctive look. The careless tussled hair he wouldn't want you to know he spends hours on is certainly recognizable, but the ill-fitting barn jacket rises to the level of iconic.

Growing concern

However, we have grown concerned that some in the MassResistance circle are not firmly commanding a personal style, but rather are in need of warm winter coats (note stained and frayed cuffs).

As you celebrate this holiday season, please keep the members of MassResistance in your thoughts and prayers. Donations of new winter coats may be sent to Bay Windows's office.
