Move to Disbar Anti-LGBTQ Congressman Matt Gaetz Over His Trump-Thumping Activities
READ TIME: 2 MIN.
The Trump-thumping, anti-LGBTQ, gay suspect Florida congressman Matt Gaetz is likely not having the happiest of holiday seasons after a petition was filed to disbar him due to his support of the President's election challenges.
"Pam Keith, who ran as a Democrat to represent Florida's 18th Congressional District and was handily defeated by Rep. Brian Mast (R-Fla.), is seeking to have Gaetz disbarred for his 'egregious betrayal and attack on the Constitution of the United States of America,' " writes The Hill..
"Whether or not they choose to discipline him (they have censured him in the past), the record of his tenure will have this stain forever," she wrote in a tweet telling of her legal action.
"Gaetz has been a staunch supporter of the president and his efforts to overturn the election. He was one of the 126 House Republicans to sign an amicus brief supporting Texas's effort to have the Supreme Court overturn the election results in Michigan, Wisconsin, Pennsylvania and Georgia," adds The Hill.
Earlier this month Gaetz responded to Keith's tweet where she said she had plans to file the petition.
In June social media largely smirked when he introduced his 21-year-old son Nestor to the world. At the time he tweeted about the "gay shaming smear," using it to criticize left-leaning politics.
But many on Twitter were not having it:
Gaetz has a '0' rating with the Human Rights Campaign on his legislative support of LGBTQ issues. He also is known for politically-inspired Jackass stunts, more recently when he wore a gas mask to Congress as a statement against COVID precautions; then, as Rolling Stone reported earlier this year, "in 2012 he mocked 'the gays' holding a 'kiss-a-thon' to protest Chick-Fil-A's anti-LGBTQ ownership."
