The Greater Boston Jewish community held a vigil Aug. 5 to mourn victims of the Aug. 1 shooting rampage at an LGBT club for teens in Tel Aviv, Israel.

Nancy Kaufman, executive director of the Jewish Community Relations Council, issued a statement the day of the vigil. "We strongly condemn [Aug. 1's] brutal and hateful attack on the gay and lesbian youth center in Tel Aviv," it read. "We commend Israeli officials who are professionally and diligently pursuing those responsible for the attacks and will bring them to justice."

"Our thoughts and prayers are with the injured and the victims' families of [August 1's] deadly attack in Tel Aviv."

The attack wounded 11 and killed 2.
